The Best Tools to Schedule YouTube Videos in 2026

YouTube Studio, Buffer, Hootsuite, Later and Zeotra compared for scheduling YouTube videos and Shorts: formats, channels, prices and who each one suits.

Every tool on this list can get a video live on YouTube at a time you pick, so the scheduling itself isn't what separates them. What does is everything around it: whether the tool handles regular videos or only Shorts, how many YouTube channels it connects, where your files come from, and how the price grows as you add channels or people.

The short version

  • YouTube Studio: free, schedules regular videos and Shorts, one channel at a time. Often all a single-channel creator needs.
  • Buffer: Shorts only, alongside the other social networks Buffer supports. Priced per channel, with a free plan.
  • Hootsuite: regular videos and Shorts inside a full social media suite for teams. Priced per user.
  • Later: Shorts only, alongside the other networks Later supports. Priced per plan, with one YouTube channel per social set.
  • Zeotra: YouTube only, regular videos and Shorts, for several channels from one dashboard, with files from your computer. One price per account.

How we compared them

For each tool: what it's best for, which YouTube formats it schedules, how it handles more than one channel, its price as of October 2026 from the vendor's own pricing page, and who should pick it. Facts about each tool come from its own help center or pricing page, listed under Sources. Prices change, so check the vendor's page before you buy.

1. YouTube Studio

  • Best for: one channel, or a couple of channels that each post a few times a week.
  • YouTube support: regular videos and Shorts. On the Visibility step you choose Schedule and set the date, time and time zone; the video stays private until then. You can upload up to 15 videos at a time, and Upload defaults pre-fill fields such as the title, tags and privacy on every upload from the website.
  • Several channels: one Google Account can manage up to 100 channels, and you switch between them from your profile picture. You work as one channel at a time, so each channel's uploads and schedule are separate.
  • Price as of October 2026: free.
  • Pick it if: you run one channel, or switching between a few channels doesn't bother you. A third-party tool adds a sign-in, a bill and possibly upload caps of its own, and at one channel it rarely earns them.

2. Buffer

  • Best for: posting Shorts from the same queue as the other social networks Buffer supports.
  • YouTube support: Shorts only. Buffer's help center says long-form YouTube videos aren't supported. Shorts can be up to 3 minutes and 10 GB, square or portrait, and publish automatically or through a phone notification you finish in the YouTube app. Custom thumbnails aren't supported.
  • Several channels: yes. You can connect multiple YouTube channels, but you must sign in to Google as each channel's owner; Buffer can't connect a channel where you're a manager of the Brand Account. Each YouTube channel is one Buffer channel for billing.
  • Price as of October 2026: a Free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials is $6 per channel a month, or $60 per channel a year. Team is $12 per channel a month, or $120 per channel a year. Channels beyond the tenth cost less each.
  • Pick it if: your YouTube presence is Shorts, you post the same ideas to other networks too, and you'd like to start on a free plan. Side by side: Zeotra vs Buffer.

3. Hootsuite

  • Best for: social media teams that manage many networks and people in one product.
  • YouTube support: regular videos and Shorts. Uploads are MP4 or M4V up to 1 GB, and videos over 15 minutes need a verified YouTube account. A private or unlisted upload can be set to go public at a scheduled time. Hootsuite's help article says videos under a minute long in 9:16 publish as Shorts automatically.
  • Several channels: yes. You pick the YouTube channel when you publish, and each one counts as a social account against the plan's allowance; Standard covers up to 10 social accounts.
  • Price as of October 2026, per user, billed annually: Standard $99 a month, Professional $199 a month, Advanced $399 a month, and Enterprise on request. Monthly billing costs more per user. The pricing page lists no free plan; a 14-day trial needs no card.
  • Pick it if: YouTube is one of several networks your team runs, and you want them all in one tool, with approval workflows on the Advanced plan. If YouTube is all you post, you'd be paying for a lot you won't use. Side by side: Zeotra vs Hootsuite.

4. Later

Does Later really support YouTube? Yes, for Shorts. Its help center says only Shorts can be scheduled and published through Later, not regular long-form videos, so it belongs on this list with that caveat.

  • Best for: one brand posting to several networks, Shorts included. Later supports Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat.
  • YouTube support: Shorts of 15 seconds to 3 minutes, scheduled from desktop or iOS but not Android, on personal and Brand channels. Shorts publish automatically. Custom thumbnails for Shorts and YouTube analytics aren't available through Later.
  • Several channels: a social set holds one profile from each network Later supports, so each YouTube channel takes a social set. Starter includes 1, Growth 2 and Scale 6, and Growth and Scale can add more.
  • Price as of October 2026, billed yearly: Starter $18.75 a month, Growth $37.50 a month, Scale $82.50 a month, with extra social sets at $11.25 a month each. Monthly billing costs more; Later says annual billing saves 25%.
  • Pick it if: you post one brand to several networks, Shorts are one part of that, and one or two YouTube channels are enough.

5. Zeotra

  • Best for: uploading and scheduling to several YouTube channels from one dashboard, without switching accounts, with files that live on your computer.
  • YouTube support: regular videos and Shorts. YouTube classifies each upload from its shape and length, and Zeotra uploads it as private with your publish time. Files can be up to 500 MB.
  • Several channels: 1 on Free, up to 5 on Pro, up to 20 on Premium, with a month calendar of scheduled uploads from every channel. Each upload goes to one channel you pick, so the same video on three channels is three uploads, each with its own title and description.
  • Also included: Google Gemini drafts a title, description and tags for you to edit (5, 100 or 500 drafts a month by plan), saved templates, and on Pro and Premium, CSV bulk import and several files in one upload session.
  • Price as of October 2026, per account rather than per channel: Free is $0 (20 uploads a month, 1 a day). Pro is $19 a month or $190 a year (50 uploads a month, up to 15 a day). Premium is $49 a month or $490 a year (500 uploads a month, up to 40 a day). Every limit is on the pricing page.
  • Pick it if: you run two or more YouTube channels, or batch a week of uploads at once, and YouTube is the network that matters to you.

Where Zeotra falls short: it's YouTube only, with no other social networks. It can't move a publish time once the video is on YouTube; you do that in Studio. Files come only from your computer, with the browser tab open while they upload, and there's no public API. Google's verification of Zeotra is still pending, so connecting a channel shows Google's unverified-app screen, and Google limits how many people can connect until it's done.

Side by side

  • Regular YouTube videos: YouTube Studio, Hootsuite and Zeotra. Buffer and Later schedule Shorts only.
  • Shorts: all five.
  • Other social networks: Buffer, Hootsuite and Later. YouTube Studio and Zeotra are YouTube only.
  • More than one YouTube channel: Studio one at a time; Buffer billed per channel; Hootsuite counts each channel as a social account; Later one per social set; Zeotra up to 20 on one account.
  • How the price grows: Buffer with channels, Hootsuite with users, Later with social sets, Zeotra with plan tier. YouTube Studio is free.
  • Cheapest paid entry as of October 2026: Buffer Essentials at $6 per channel a month, Later Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly, Zeotra Pro at $19 a month, Hootsuite Standard at $99 per user a month billed annually.

Why third-party tools cap uploads

Every upload counts toward your channel's own daily limit, whether it comes from Studio, the mobile app or the API. A third-party tool also uploads through the YouTube Data API, and Google gives each app's project a default of 100 uploads a day, shared by everyone who uses that app, until it approves more. That's why a tool may set daily or monthly caps of its own. The upload limits guide explains how the layers stack.

When YouTube Studio alone is enough

Plainly: if you run one channel, upload a few times a week, and don't need to plan YouTube alongside other networks, use YouTube Studio. It schedules regular videos and Shorts, takes up to 15 files at a time, pre-fills your usual title, tags and privacy through Upload defaults, and costs nothing. A tool starts to pay for itself when switching between channels, retyping metadata or keeping a cross-channel calendar costs you more time than the subscription costs money. The Zeotra vs YouTube Studio comparison goes through that line in more detail.

How to choose

  • One channel, a few uploads a week: YouTube Studio.
  • Shorts plus a few other social accounts, on a small budget: Buffer, which is free for up to 3 channels.
  • One brand on many networks, Shorts included: Later, where a social set covers one profile on each network it supports.
  • A social media team running many networks: Hootsuite.
  • Several YouTube channels with regular videos and Shorts, and files on your computer: Zeotra. For scheduling Shorts specifically, see how to schedule YouTube Shorts.
  • Not sure: use Studio for two weeks and write down what slows you down. That list tells you which kind of tool you need, if any.
